Obama to US senators: DO YOUR JOB

On March 16, 2016, President Barack Obama nominated Merrick Garland, the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by the death of Antonin Scalia on February 13. But since the nomination, Republican Senate leaders have been delaying the confirming the nomination of Garland. They announced that they planned to hold no vote on any potential nominee until a new president was elected.

President Barack Obama however took to twitter and called on American senators to give Merrick Garland a fair hearing and asked them to do their job.

See his tweet after the cut...

Judge Garland is highly qualified for the Supreme Court—he deserves a hearing.
