Sea Level Rise Swallow Five Pacific Islands
Five small Pacific islands have disappeared due to rising sea levels, and another six have experienced severe shoreline recession, according to a new study.
The submerged islands were part of the remote Solomon Islands, a country located northeast of Australia that's made up of six major islands and more than 900 smaller islands.
The missing islands were not inhabited by humans, but the study showed that shoreline recession at two sites destroyed villages that existed since at least 1935. Severe coastal recession that took place on the shoreline of Nuatambu island between 2011 and 2014 resulted in ten houses being washed into the ocean.
The study, published in the online journal Environmental Research Letters, is believed to be the first scientific confirmation of the impact of climate change on small islands in the Pacific. Researchers used aerial and satellite imagery from 1947 to 2015, along with historical insight from local residents to identify the five vegetated reef islands that have vanished over the 68-year time period.
Researchers said sea-level rise in the Solomon Islands over the past two decades are amongst the highest globally, averaging 3mm per year since 1950 and between 7 and 10mm per year since 1994. The study also notes that the projected sea levels for the Solomon Islands indicate a rise of 24 to 89cm between 1996 and 2090, depending on future greenhouse gas emissions.
"Climate change induced sea-level rise is anticipated to be one of the greatest challenges for humanity over the coming century," the study notes. "The large range of erosion severity on the islands in this study highlights the critical need to understand the complex interplay between the projected accelerating sea-level rise, other changes in global climate such as winds and waves, and local tectonics, to guide future adaptation planning and minimize social impacts."

Australians will go to the polls on 2 July after one of the longest election campaigns in the country's history.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has called the election several months early after the country's upper house repeatedly blocked legislation. On Sunday the prime minister asked the Governor-General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, to dissolve both the lower and upper houses of parliament.
The economy, education and health are likely to dominate the campaign. "The governor-general has accepted my advice to dissolve both houses of parliament effective tomorrow morning, and call an election for both houses, a double dissolution, on 2 July," said Mr Turnbull on Sunday afternoon.
Under Australia's political system, the governor-general is the representative of the head of state, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II. In the House of Representatives all 150 seats will be contested, as well as the 76 Senate seats - the first time this has happened in an early election since 1987.
The opposition Labor Party needs to gain 21 seats in the lower house to win power, although changes to electoral boundaries mean it nominally holds three of those seats already. At 56 days, it will the longest campaign since 1969, when the race lasted for 66 days.
Mr Turnbull, who heads a Liberal-National coalition, said the country faced a choice "to stay the course, maintain the commitment to our national economic plan for growth and jobs, or go back to Labor with its higher taxing, higher spending, debt-and-deficit agenda."
Takata shares crash on new recall reports
Takata shares fell as much as 3.5% in morning trade before recovering, as media reports suggested more recalls over faulty airbags supplied by the Japanese company. Sunday's Nikkei newspaper said an additional 20 million Takata airbags would be recalled by car maker Honda.
Honda shares rose 1.6% in Tokyo, while Takata shares closed 0.3% down. Takata said it would make a loss of about 13bn yen ($121m, £83m) last year due to recalls of millions of airbags.
Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose by 0.7% to close at 16,216.03, following last week's gains in the US.

Australia's benchmark ASX/200 rose 0.5%, closing at 5,320.70.

Let’s talk about Love: Secrets Men wants their Women to Know
Love is the most important thing that could happen to anyone at any time. Therefore, it is good you know and understand your partner if you aspire to build a healthy and long-lasting relationship together. Here, I want to let women in on how they can understand their men and what they hold dear in their lives. Happy reading!!
1. Men talk about feelings
It may be easier for your man to talk about feelings indirectly. For instance, ask him how he will do during a romantic weekend, or what he thought the first time he met you. You will be amazed how he’ll respond to your answer…
2. Men say “I love you” with actions
Some men prefer to express their feelings through actions rather than words. Your man may say “I love you by fixing things around the house or even taking out the trash – anything that makes your world a better place”. I could your heart beat to this. Yes, men do that.
3. Men take commitment seriously
Generally, men have a reputation for being afraid to commit. But evidence suggests that men take marriage seriously. They may take longer to commit because they want to make sure they are on board for good. In a recent survey, 90% of the married men say they would marry the same woman again.
4. Men are listeners
When you are listening to someone talk, you probably indicate to the person that you are listening by nodding, gazing your eyeballs on them, or replying with a “yes” every now and then. But some men don’t do this. And just because your man isn't saying anything doesn't mean he’s not listening to you. Some prefer to listen quietly and think about what you’re saying so they could give a good reply to your story.
5. Men's shared activities form bonds
Men strengthen their relationship primarily through shared activities more than by sharing thoughts or feelings. For many men, activities like sports and sex make them feel closer to their partner.
6. Men need time for themselves
While shared activities are important, men also need time for themselves. Whether your man enjoys golf, football, or working out in a gym house, encourage him to pursue his hobbies while you make time for your own. When both partners have space to nurture their individuality, they have more to give to each other.
7. Men learn from their fathers
If you want to know how a man will act in a relationship, get to know his dad. Some say men learn about their relationship role by watching and listening to their fathers. How they are with each other and how the father relates to the mother can predict how a man will relate to wife.
8. Men let go faster than women
Women tend to remember negative experiences longer and may have lingering feelings of stress, anxiety, or sadness. In contrast, men are less likely to dwell on unpleasant events and tend to move on more quickly. So while you may still want to talk about last night’s argument, your man may have already forgotten about it.
9. Men don’t pick up on subtle cues
Men are more likely to miss subtle signals like tone of voice or facial expressions. They are especially likely to miss sadness on a woman’s face. If you want to make sure your man gets the message, be direct.
10. Men respond to appreciation
Showing appreciation for your man can make a big difference in the way he acts. Studies show that fathers are more involved in care-giving when their wives value their involvement and see them as competent.
11. Men think about sex a lot
This is no secret! Majority of men under age 60 think about sex at least once a day, compared with only a quarter of women. And this is not all. Men fantasize sex nearly twice as often as women do, and their fantasies are much more varied. They also think more about casual sex than women. But thinking isn't the same as doing!
12. Men like it when you initiate sex
Most men feel as though they’re the ones who always initiate sex. But they also like to be pursued and wish their partner would take the lead more often. Don’t be shy about letting your man know you are in the mood. Initiating sex some of the time may lead to a higher level of satisfaction for both of you.
13. Men like pleasing their partner
Your pleasure is important to your man. But he won’t know what you want unless you tell him. Too many women feel uncomfortable talking about what they like and don’t like. If you can tell him clearly in a way that doesn't bruise his ego, he’ll listen because he knows that he will feel good if you feel good.
14. Men may stray when needs aren't met
If a man doesn't feel loved enough and appreciated by her woman in the relationship, he may turn elsewhere for satisfaction and comfort. Most men will bury their self in office work; others may develop a sudden interest in sports or video games, while others will go out and cheat. To avoid this, partners need to work together to meet each other’s needs.
15. Men are vested in their women
Most men realize there’s a lot to lose if a long term relationship goes sour – not just each other’s company, but the entire life you've built together. If you’re willing to work to strengthen your relationship, chances are your man will be too.

Donald Trump & Megyn Kelly In Face-to-Face Interview
Eight months after the “feud” between Megyn Kelly and Donald Trump first flared up, the two sat down for their first face-to-face interview. Fox News released a promo Friday for the special Megyn Kelly Presents to air Tuesday, May 17. The spot features the Fox News personality interviewing the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
“Let’s talk about us,” Kelly says to Trump, recalling the Aug. 6, 2015 debate when they first crossed swords.
“I wasn’t so fond of you at the time, I will tell you,” Trump responds. The candidate felt she had unfairly singled him out during the debate for particularly negative questioning.
Kelly met with the presidential candidate at Trump Tower on April 13, CNN Money reported. “Yes, the doormen appeared a bit stunned when I walked in,” the Fox News host recounted to her Kelly File audience the evening after the sit-down. “We met for about an hour, just the two of us, and had a chance to clear the air.” Let's hope for a new and better relationship with the duo as the interview air on 17th this month.

Donald Trump Jr. and the Trump ladies watching the results come in and some interesting news this past Tuesday
Still getting over how surreal this experience is. This is a family shot of us watching TV on Tuesday right before we heard the big news. I'm just honored and humbled to be a part of it in any way however small. The people I've met all across this country that just want real change are an inspiration and I am in awe of them and their passion. Thanks for all you do!

Sadiq Khan is now London's first elected Muslim mayor
Labour candidate Sadiq Khan has been elected Mayor of London, beating his Conservative opponent Zac Goldsmith. According to Gianluca Mezzofiore for Mashable, Khan, 45, replaces flamboyant Conservative Boris Johnson after a race characterised by allegations of extremism and racism.
Goldsmith called Khan — who is Muslim — a "radical" and accused him of giving "platforms, oxygen and even cover" to Islamic extremists. His allegations were echoed by prime minister David Cameron in the parliament, during Wednesdays' question time.
The son of a bus driver from Pakistan, Khan is a former human rights lawyer who branded himself "the British Muslim who takes the fight to the extremists." Before the elections, he promised to be "a mayor for all Londoners," urging voters to "choose hope over fear."
A victory for Khan is a bright spot in what looks set to be a grim day for Labour, which has been out of office nationally since 2010.

Breaking: The Fear of Trump rains in Clinton Camp as they start 'Stop Trump Fund'
Clinton's campaign manager Robby Mook says in an email to supporters that the fund raising drive will "make sure that Trump can never use the power of the presidency" to deport millions of immigrants, prevent Muslims from entering the United States or "punish" women who get abortions.
During months of campaigning, Trump has made some statements about abortion and gay rights that pleased social conservatives and others that unsettled them. That inconsistency, coupled with various liberal-leaning comments he made in past years, has deprived Trump of an enthusiastic embrace by the social conservative camp.
But I think the camp of Clinton is forgetting is that all the negative ads against the Donald by his republican presidential rivals, could not stop his momentum. And the "Stop Trump Movement" also hit the rock.
So I rather vote for a trusted candidate who says the truth and can never be swayed by SuperPacs or political big wigs than to vote for a crooked individual who plays the women card and is being paraded for revealing a countries classified information via email. What information will she reveal when she becomes president? I wonder!!
